Where does the procedure take place?

Port implantation and removal procedures take place every day from Monday to Friday at the Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine (IHiT) in Warsaw, located in the Ursynów district at ul. Indiry Gandhi 14.

We try to admit patients for scheduled procedures between 7:45 and 12:00. The whole stay should not take longer than 3.5 hours for a port implantation and 3 hours for a port removal.

On the day of the procedure, please come to the Admissions Room (Izba Przyjęć) at the agreed time. Please remember that patients coming for the procedure are admitted without queuing: just tell the nurses in the Admissions Room that you have arrived for the procedure.

Next to the Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine there are the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology (NIO-PIB) and the Southern Hospital (Szpital Południowy). NIO-PIB has 8–9 floors, the Southern Hospital has 5 floors above ground and a helipad on the roof, and the nicest building of the three is the Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine.
